Get a Library Card for the Trail & District Public Library

Who can get a membership at the Trail & District Public Library?

TDPL offers membership to all property owners and residents within the City of Trail and the Village of Warfield. Cards are issued with no fee after proof of residence (driver’s license with current address, phone bill with your name and address, assessment notice, bank statement, etc.) is shown to staff.

Non-Residents

Residents living in RDKB’s Area B and Area A are required to pay an annual membership fee in order to acquire a Trail & District Public Library card. Although many residents of British Columbia are part of a library service, people living in parts of RDKB’s Area B and Area A do not pay library taxes and so are not eligible for a free library card at the Trail & District Public Library. The inclusion or exclusion of areas was determined through referenda in each area.

A 1 year membership costs $75.00. Families may share one card after paying this fee. Payment can be made with cash, debit, credit card or cheque payable to the Trail & District Public Library, for $75.00.

Area B reimbursement

The Regional District Kootenay Boundary is reimbursing residents of Area B for the costs of library membership and some City of Trail recreation facilities and programs. See the following link for details: rdkb.com/Recreation-Culture/Lower-Columbia-Old-Glory
