The Trail & District Public Library was founded in 1925, and proudly offers a variety of services and programs to the communities of the City of Trail, the Village of Warfield, and the surrounding area.

Position summary

The Summer Reading Club Coordinator role is a temporary full-time position, working Monday to Friday, for 9 weeks starting late June. The Summer Reading Club Coordinator is responsible for organizing and delivering all activities and programs for children ages 6-12. In addition, the Summer Reading Club Coordinator will plan, promote, and deliver the library’s Summer Reading Club. This position reports to the Children’s programmer and Library Director.

We're looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual between the ages of 15-30, with a flexible work schedule that could include evening and Saturday shifts.

Responsibilities

●     Help organizing and delivering children’s programs

●     Help run the BC Summer Reading Club

●     Promoting children’s programs and the BC Summer Reading Club

Job requirements

●     Between 15-30 years of age

●     Flexible work schedule

●     Pass a vulnerable sector criminal record check

●     Student registered for full time fall studies in 2026

Desired Skills/Experience

●     Technologically adept, comfortable using Facebook, Zoom, Canva, Instagram, etc.

●     Experience working with children

●     Arts/craft, drama or storytelling skills

●     Good written, interpersonal, public speaking and leadership skills

●     Able to work independently or as part of a team
