Sunday Cinema is Back

Sunday Cinema returns to the Royal Theatre on January 12 at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $9 or $40 for a six-movie pass. The upcoming series includes Jan. 12, ALL IS LOST; Jan. 19, WADJDA; Jan. 26, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS; Feb.2, THE CRASH REEL; and Feb. 9, PHILOMENA.

The Man Booker Prize 2013

The Man Booker Prize 2013

The prize, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2008, aims to promote the finest in fiction by rewarding the best novel of the year written by a citizen of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, or the Republic of Ireland. In the library are ten titles from last year's longlist. Eleanor Catton was announced as the winner forThe Luminaries on Tuesday, October 15. The remaining three from the longlist, including the winner of the 2013 Man Booker Prize, will be on the shelves in the library soon.

Preschool Programs

Register in person or by phone for preschool programs that will begin on Tuesday, January 7.

Ages 0-3, Mother Goose Singing & Rhyming Time,
Tuesdays 10 - 11 a.m.

Ages 3-5, Creative ABCs!,
Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 - 11.30 a.m.

Programs are free, but you must register for each session. Participation is limited with space available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register, contact the library at 250-364-1731. We request that everyone arrive a few minutes early to settle in, so we may start on time.
