The library's collection is fully automated, and accessible to the public. Patrons can search for all library materials, including books, magazines, videos and music on the Library's computers. Two computers are dedicated to searching of the Library Catalogue.
Remote access is available so that users can search the catalog, renew materials, and place holds on materials.
In partnership with Industry Canada's Community Access Program, the Library provides free public access to the Internet and word processing. Children that are 12 and under require a parent's or guardian's permission to use the Internet.
Patrons with a Full-Service Card may book up to one hour of computer time each day, while non-members and BC OneCard members are allowed one-half hour per day. BC OneCard members from Rossland, Montrose, Fruitvale, and RDKB Area 'A' are also allowed one hour per day. Printing on a Laser printer is available for a small charge.
A grant from the Columbia Basin Trust has allowed the Library to develop genealogy resources. The grant has allowed the library to purchase a microfilm reader/printer and resources like British Columbia Census information on microfilm. The Library's website contains many links to genealogy resources on the Internet.
Interactive, educational programs are available on this computer located in the children's area. Children can register for up to one hour of exploration on this Early Literacy Station. Very young children must be supervised by an adult.
A dedicated terminal is available for information searching on the Internet for up to 15 minutes per day.
