Home Library Service

The Home Library Service is a convenient way for library members who may have difficulty leaving their homes to borrow books and other library items. Our Friends of the Library provide this free monthly service to residents of Trail and Warfield who are homebound for at least 90 days due to age, illness or disability.

How do I register for Home Library Service?

Library members may register for the HLS using either of the following methods:

You can email, mail, fax or drop-off your completed registration form.

How does the Home Library Service Work?

After registration, the Coordinator will contact you to discuss your needs and interests. When you request library materials, a volunteer will deliver them to your door and return them back to the library.

What resources can I borrow?

You can always access our online catalogue to view materials, such as:

  • Specific titles
  • Fiction and non-fiction items
  • Regular or large-size print books
  • Magazines
  • Audio books on CD
  • Music on CD
  • Movies, TV series and documentaries on DVD

When does delivery and pick-up happen?

Volunteers will deliver and pickup materials on the first Wednesday of each month between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Do I have to be home to receive a delivery?

Someone will need to be home to answer the door. If you are unable to be home for delivery, please call the Library to make alternate arrangements 250-364-1731 prior to the delivery date.
