EBSCOhost is a periodical database with full text articles. A great way to find general reference and current health information. Users can also e-mail articles. Type in your library card number at the Patron ID prompt.

Medline Plus: A great source of information from the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
HealthLinkBC: This Provincial Government site offers information on a wide variety of health topics and provides health & safety information including the BC HealthGuide and BC HealthFiles. Includes a 24-hour, toll-free number to talk to a registered nurse confidentially.
Health Canada On-line: A valuable site with health info broken down by subjects & special info for those who plan to travel abroad.
Canadian Health Network: Funded by and in partnership with Health Canada, this site, created for non-medical staff, provides links to Canadian organizations and agencies.
HealthTouch Online: A consumer medications guide is included on this site.
Canadian Medical Association: Medical professionals will appreciate the content of this site which includes full text for several medical journals and newsletters. The clinical resources link provides great WebMed Links and access to the CMA Infobase.
College of Physicians & Surgeons of BC: Includes a physician search and a listing of disciplinary actions.

BC Cancer Agency: A division of the Provincial Health Services Authority, this agency's site includes a drug database, information on clinical trials, and a wealth of other info. The agency will also assist patients with research.
