Friends of the Trail Public Library
"Bringing Together Books and People ... with a little help from our friends"
The Friends of the Trail Public Library is a non-profit society. Our purpose is to:
Act as a liaison between the Library and the community, helping to promote and expand the Library's role in the Trail area.
Support Library services, programs and capital expenditures through a variety of fund raising and volunteer activities.
Since the Friends of the Trail Public Library was formed in the spring of 1996, it has:
Partnered with the Library to secure grants from the Provincial Government and other organizations.
Published the Trail Cooks Italian! cookbook.
Sold book bags (available at the front desk in the Library).
Served as Poll Clerks for the Trail Civic Elections.
Sponsored many author readings.
Delivered books for the Home Library Service.
Assisted with the purchase of furnishings and special library materials.
Enjoyed the company of Friends.
Becoming a Friend through purchasing an annual membership by donation.
Making a tax-deductible donation which will be used to purchase much needed furniture and equipment.
Advocating on behalf of the library. If it's collections or services which are important to you and your family, tell a friend, or better yet, tell a politician!
Helping the Home Library Service deliver materials to homebound people in Trail and Warfield.
Becoming involved in Friends' activities.
Meetings are usually held at the Library on the first Friday of the month at 12 p.m. New members are always welcome.
