Collection Resource Information

Books

The Library maintains a comprehensive collection of recreational, educational and self-help books for people of all ages and reading levels. The catalogue is searchable from home. Members can place reserves on items and renew their books from home.

Electronic Resources

The Library subscribes to a variety of eDatabases that members can access from home. Remote access includes Proquest - Canadian Newsstand, EBSCOhost, NoveList (Guide to Fiction), Library to Go by OverDrive (downloadable eAudiobooks & eBooks), TumbleBooks (eBooks for Kids), Auto Repair Reference Center, Small Engine Repair Reference Center. In Library access only is available for Encyclopedia of British Columbia, QP Legaleze, BC Code Books, and Vehicle Safety & Inspection Standards.

Magazines and Newspapers

The Library has over 80 subscriptions to a variety of Canadian, American and International magazines, and a number of Canadian newspapers. See also our eDatabases (online subscriptions).

Government Documents

The Library has an extensive collection of B.C. Government Documents that includes an electronic subscription to QP Legaleze (accessible from within the Library only) and links to government websites. The Library is a Selective Depository for Federal Documents. In addition, we have a selection of local government information.

Microfilm

The Trail newspaper is available on microfilm for the years 1896 to 2007. The Canadian Census for British Columbia is also available for the years 1881, 1891, and 1901.

DVDs

Our DVD collection includes classic movies, children's animation and a large number of educational movies perfect for students and family viewing.

Music

A wide variety of musical styles are available in compact disc. Musical styles available in the library include: Classical, Opera, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Country, Easy Listening, Pop, Rock, Alternative and Children's.
