One Book One Kootenay is a book club for the Kootenay region, intended to cultivate a culture of reading and discussion by bringing people together around one great book. The book is selected by a committee, from a list of books by Kootenay authors.
This is the second year that the Kootenay Library Federation has sponsored One Book One Kootenay. Last year's choice was the The Bone Cage by Angie Abdou.
The three shortlisted books for One Book One Kootenay (OBOK) 2010 are: In the Path of an Avalanche by Vivien Bowers, Treading Water by Anne DeGrace, and Blue Valley by Luanne Armstrong.
These books are available to be borrowed at the Trail & District Public Library.
Readers of the OBOK books can enter their selection for which book they think will become the winner of OBOK. The Kootenay Library Federation will announce the winning book in September. Members that enter the Library's draw will have an opportunity to win a prize.
